Troubleshooting

Sometimes things break. Let's fix them.

🎤 "I can't hear you"

Symptom: You press the hotkey, but nothing happens. Or the tray icon stays gray.

• Check 1: Is your microphone plugged in? (Sounds silly, but it happens).
• Check 2: Windows Permissions. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and make sure apps are allowed to listen.
• Check 3: Did you pick the right mic in dIKta.me settings?

⌨️ "My hotkeys aren't working"

Symptom: You press Ctrl+Alt+D and Discord opens instead (or nothing happens).

• Fix: Another app stole the hotkey. Right-click dIKta.me > Settings > Hotkeys and change it to something unique.

☁️ "API Key Invalid"

Symptom: It says "Auth Error".

• Fix: You probably missed a character when copying. Make sure you got the whole key (usually starts with sk- or AIza-). Watch out for accidental spaces at the start or end.

🐢 "It's too slow"

• Fix: Cloud modes depend on your internet. If your WiFi is spotty, try Local Whisper mode (if your computer is powerful enough). It's consistently fast, offline.
